WILLIAM YANG | Evening. Enngonia. 2000

$2,750.00

35 x 53 cm
I met Fulla and Bruce Shillingsworth through George and Gabrielle Gittoes. They had opened their home at Bundeena to the boys on the weekends when the boys were at primary school at Gymea, so their place became a second home for them. The Gittoes ended up adopting Fulla and Bruce.
Gabrielle took me to Enngonia in Western NSW for Fella’s 21st birthday in 1990 and I met Ruby who was the mother of the boys. It was on this trip that the Shillingsworths took us on the hunt. About a decade later I visited their mother Ruby as I wanted to take some more photos for my performance piece Shadows, and it was on this trip that I took the photos of Ruby’s carport.
