Created during an artist residency in Milan in 2025, this work explores cultural identity through the formation of myth and history. It draws on both Renaissance visual rhythm and Asian symbolic traditions, the composition brings Eastern and Western influences into dialogue.

A continuous, sinuous movement travels across the surface, evoking the presence of a dragon—a symbol in many Asian cultures associated with transformation, wisdom, and continuity. Rather than appearing as a literal figure, the dragon emerges through gesture and flow, suggesting cultural memory and the migration of ideas across time and place.

Layered marks and shifting colours reflect identity as something fluid and evolving, shaped by exchange, movement, and reinterpretation. History is presented not as a fixed narrative, but as a living process, carried forward through rhythm, abstraction, and cross-cultural connection.
