New Horizons

‘New Horizons is a series of recent paintings I have been developing over the last few years. It is an ongoing body of work, with the aim of depicting some of the changes and events that are taking place within my local and surrounding neighbourhoods and in particular, within the Burwood area of Sydney, where I have lived for over thirty years. Having witnessed much of this transformation, although seemingly recent, it is often forgotten as a constant and gradual process. Thus importantly, I also wanted to include and capture elements within each scenery that narrate and give a sense of familiarity and memory, presence and timeless experience. In my work I aim to explore the elusive energy and narratives that shape our human landscape.’
