Voice and Identity exhibition opening at Art Atrium launched by The Hon Linda Burney MP

Voice and Identity exhibition opening at Art Atrium launched by The Hon Linda Burney MP (Minister for Indigenous Australians). Voice and Identity features important works of nine Australian photographers - Mervyn Bishop, Brenda Croft, Blak Douglas, Sandy Edwards, Juno Gemes, Teena McCarthy, Barbara McGrady, Asher Milgate and William Yang. With the majority of Australians voting against the referendum on an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice, this exhibition draws our attention to our First Nations communities and advocates for the appreciation and understanding of the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and social cohesion for all Australians. The series of photographs by each artist in the exhibition is focused on First Nation communities and some of the First Nations leaders who had made significant contribution to the culture and identity of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
